Nick’s Cove is one spectacularly beautiful place to work! The views of Tomales Bay and sunsets over the hills are something I will always cherish while working here. For me, the only thing that beats the natural beauty of Nick’s is the fact that we are pet friendly. As someone who grew up with dogs, I will always approach them if I see one coming my way. We’ve experienced some pretty cute pooches here on property, including repeat “guests” year after year, like Sir Nero and Luna, two adorable French Bulldogs who have become staff favorites! Our guests really appreciate the fact that we allow and welcome their fur babies. Upon arrival they are given belly rubs by our innkeepers and once they get to their room they have homemade dog treats waiting for them. Nick’s Cove has 3 beaches that are available for your pets, and Dillon Beach, only a 15 minute drive north, is my favorite place to go with my Basset, Bruce. Dillon is a gorgeous pet friendly beach and always promises a good time for your pooch. In April we are celebrating my favorite package of the year: the “Pampered Pooch Package”, where you dog can enjoy a massage, toys, and treats. Check it out here!
Maybe I should not announce this publicly, but here goes … I cannot shuck an oyster very well!
Trust me, I have tried: with gloves, no gloves, round handle, long handle, plastic handle, wooden handle, short shucker, longer shucker, on the table, in the hand … I am just not very good at it! So, I leave the shucking to the professionals here at Nick’s! And man can they shuck! Rigo and Ceasar are super-fast … even Chef Austin is efficient (even though he is allergic to the tasty bi-valves)!
Recently, our Private Dining Manager, Kathryn, had a group of executives come to Nick’s Cove for some “team building” and she put together a shucking instructional! What came out of that day was not only the newest addition to our hands-on fun at Nick’s Cove, but a whole lot of laughter from the team and a shucking good time.
If you would like to schedule a private shucking lesson for your team, email our events staff at email@example.com and we would be happy to arrange for your very own waterfront, shucking instructional, complete with oysters, cocktails, champagne or wine & beer for you to enjoy with your team!
In honor of our thriving artisan cheesemaking community in Sonoma and Marin Counties and to celebrate the 7th Annual California’s Artisan Cheese Festival, Nick’s Cove has a lot of cheesy-good-fun happening in Marshall!

Some say Valentine’s Day is just a Hallmark holiday. Anyone who knows me knows I am a hopeless romantic; therefore I say, “So what?”
I love celebrating love and relish in the idea of a month-long excuse to spread the magic of Cupid’s Arrow. Apparently, I am not the only one who feels this way … During the Month of February our Nick’s Loves Love Package celebrates all things romantic: candle-lit dinners, handmade chocolates, relaxing bubble baths for two, warm crackling fires in our wood burning stoves, calm-inducing massages, delicious beds you won’t want to leave and breakfast delivered right to your bed each morning!
So, I say, bring on the romance and enjoy a quiet, romantic get-away with your loved one! http://www.nickscove.com/specialpackages.html
