Angela Price
Assistant General Manager/Private Events Coordinator
Born and raised in Santa Rosa, California, Angela Price grew up taking weekend outings to Glen Ellen with her mother and as a special treat they would always go get lunch at their favorite restaurant, The Garden Court Café. Over the years, they got to know the owners of the restaurant quite well, and Angela was told that as soon as she was old enough, she could start working there. Angela took this promise seriously, and so the day she turned 15 ½, she went out and got her work permit, and immediately began to work there as a busser and host. She soon realized that she loved the bustle of the restaurant industry and loved to work. She stayed at The Garden Court Café for five years, simultaneously earning her Associates degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Santa Rosa Junior College.
After receiving her degree, Angela began serving tables at Su Casa, a busy Mexican Restaurant in Santa Rosa, where she stayed for another four years, often working herself to the bone, six days a week. Feeling burnt out, she and a co-worker would often find themselves commiserating over a drink at BJ’s Brewhouse, where Angela serendipitously met Wade Nakamine. Wade was the manager at BJ’s and he encouraged Angela to leave Su Casa and come work with him, where he understood the need for a healthy work-life balance, and soon Angela took Wade up on the offer. She began as a server, but soon worked her way up to Supervisor, with Wade there to mentor her every step of the way. When Wade was hired to be the General Manager of Nick’s Cove and Cottages, he soon realized he could use an Assistant General Manager to help him lead the team, and Angela was his first choice.
Now that Angela has been at Nick’s Cove for two years, she is dedicated to making sure that her staff are happy and supported. She believes that listening to her staff’s needs and ensuring that they feel appreciated, is the key to success, because if they are happy, they will naturally give great service. Not only does Angela help run the floor and manage all of the front of house staff, but she also manages all of the special events and group bookings for the entire property. She feels incredibly lucky to have found a place that she loves to come to every day, and to be working alongside Wade and the rest of the amazing staff at Nick’s Cove.
When she isn’t working, Angela loves to spend time with her family, her Shih Tzu Nina, and travels as often as possible.
