Dining Room Manager
Dustin Moore grew up in Cloverdale where he lived and worked until he moved to Santa Rosa his senior year of high school. As soon as he turned 15 and was legally allowed to work, he began working in the restaurant industry, for Nickerbocker catering and for The Underground Café in Cloverdale. Now at only 25 years old, he’s already been in the industry for 10 years and is excited to finally be taking on his first managerial role.
Back in Cloverdale at The Underground Café, he loved the close-knit, homey feel of the small staff, and how hands-on the owners were. Dustin received a great introduction to the restaurant industry there, and models his own management style after the Café’s understanding, hardworking owners. Since then, he has worked in almost every front-of-house position there is, including as a busser, server and host supervisor at Nick’s Cove.
Now as Dining Room Manager, Dustin continues to strive to grow every day. He feels lucky to get to learn from the management team at Nick’s Cove who he calls gracious and helpful. His main goal upon starting as a manager was to earn the respect of the staff, and so he aims to be the hardest working person on the floor every day, being approachable and easy to talk to, upholding the highest of standards of service, and pushing the betterment of his team. On any given busy shift he can be found spearheading the kitchen as the service expo or running the floor and clearing tables, making sure that he touches every table.
One reason why Dustin especially loves being at Nick’s Cove is because he says every job is equally important there, and respected by all of the employees. He appreciates that anyone who wants to get training in the restaurant industry is welcome to join the team if they are willing to work hard and grow within the company. Plus, it’s also a pretty gorgeous place to be!
In his spare time Dustin loves to play music and go see other live bands. He used to volunteer at a local radio station and so he knows many local musicians and he also happens to be the lead vocalist for a metal band called A Hero To Fail.
