THE RESTAURANT

Nick’s Cove is a delicious, relaxing and beautiful destination that has remained a local institution for more than 90 years on the West Marin County coastline. Managed by Tomales Bay Hospitality and led by General Manager Wade Nakamine, Nick’s Cove Restaurant serves sustainable coastal classics sourced from the area’s abundant Marin and Sonoma County farms. The restaurant has recently refined its offerings to pay homage to the rich seaside history of Nick’s Cove. With Executive Chef Matt Alfus at the helm, Nick’s Cove aims to ensure that our classic fish house staples hearken back to their origins, while using the best possible local ingredients.

A Bit About Our Service Style:

Our restaurant offers a casual, come-as-you-are atmosphere. There are no reservations, and no traditional ‘servers’ taking orders. Please walk in and choose a table, place your order via the QR code on your table, and we’ll deliver your food and drinks to you when ready. You may choose to sit in either of our two dining rooms, at the bar, or outside at one of our dog-friendly tables on our dock or deck. 

We know QR codes are not for everyone, but they help free up our talented team to focus more on hospitality, execution and connection rather than spending time on redundant steps of service such as writing down orders and punching them into a computer. QR codes allow you to control the pace of your meal and give you the opportunity to order more food and drinks at your leisure. Our staff will regularly check in on you, answer any questions,  and ensure you know the story of our menu and this historic property. Our goal is to preserve and enhance the Nick’s Cove experience; and while staffing issues, inflationary pressures and the cyclical nature of this business is nothing new, we find this technology can provide us with solutions to enhance the guest experience and allow us to better serve you.

If you prefer not to use QR codes, we’ve got you. Please place your order with one of our bartenders - we’ll make your drinks and provide you with a number.
